University of South Wales – masterclass with songwriter and musician Richard J Parfitt

Richard is best known as the front man of the successful rock trio 60ft Dolls during the 1990s. He brings his 25 years’ of experience in the industry to his new role and will be based at the University’s Cardiff Campus.

During his time with the band, Richard wrote three top 40 singles and a top 40 album. He has sold over a million records and has been presented with a platinum album.

As a professional songwriter, musician and manager, Richard has worked with artists such as Welsh songstress Duffy and provided music for Universal Films. As a session musician, Richard has worked and played guitar for Dido, as well as Bernard Butler, Urge Overkill and Lene Marlin.

Richard has received copious amounts of positive press coverage including a feature spread in The Sunday Times Magazine since ’90’s album ‘The Big 3’ was re-released earlier this year. The most recent reviews are featured in major music magazine The Line of Best Fit and Record Collector Magazine.
