LONDON ROAD (15) is the film version of the play which was hailed as a remarkable, ground-breaking work during two sell-out runs at the National Theatre. It documents the events that shook Suffolk in 2006, when the quiet rural town of Ipswich was shattered by the discovery of the bodies of five women. The residents of London Road had struggled for years with frequent soliciting and kerb-crawling on their street. The film follows the community who found themselves at the epicenter of the tragic events. Using their own words set to an innovative musical score, LONDON ROAD tells a moving story of ordinary people coming together during the darkest of experiences.

Directed by Rufus Norris,  the artistic director of the National Theatre and director of the 2012 film Broken, the cast includes Broadchurch’s  Olivia Colman, Tom Hardy (Mad Max), Kate Fleetwood,  Rosalie Craig, Anita Dobson and James Doherty. Moderated by author Daniel Rachel, who worked with the National Theatre production of London Road, assisting Rufus Norris.

The event is in aid of the charity Tender, of which Olivia Colman is a patron.
