This is a night dedicated to two-tone and mod with June Miles-Kingston, Eddie Piller and Daniel Rachel

Speakers:
June Miles-Kingston – As a drummer, singer and song-writer, she co-formed all girl band the Mo-dettes in 1979. She went on to work with the Funboy 3, Everything But the Girl, the Communards, and many others. June is also a prize-winning Filmmaker. Her current film project uses my personal archive to encapsulate my experiences as a female musician throughout the Eighties.

Daniel Rachel – Former musician-turned-bestselling author whose previous works include: “Isle of Noises: Conversations with Great British Songwriters”, “Don’t Look Back in Anger: the Rise & Fall of Cool Britannia” and “The Lost Album of The Beatles: What if the Beatles hadn’t Split Up?”. His new book Too Much Too Young: The 2 Tone Records Story : Rude Boys, Racism and the Soundtrack of a Generation is the definitive guide to the legendary 2 Tone Records. The book maps out the a movement that shook up the nation with its rebellious spirit, fighting against the injustices in society and took the fight against the right wing extremism in the country.

Eddie Piller – Writer who has just released his best selling biography “Clean Living Under Difficult Circumstances” which looks at his life up to the age of 23. In his spare time he runs the indie label Acid Jazz and the independent radio station Totally Wired Radio. Past glories include owning Hoxton’s legendary Blue Note club.
