As part of the British Library’s Beyond the Bassline season\, Your Local Arena screens Rudies Come Back\, the energetic 1980 BBC Arena film made right at the moment that 2-Tone was emerging\, capturing its unique blend of 1960s blue beat and ska with 1970s reggae\, soul and punk.\n\nAfter the film\, the accompanying panel discussion with Rhoda Dakar (the Bodysnatchers)\, Charlie Higson (the Higsons) and Jeff Perks (2 Tone filmmaker) was around at the time\, and the discussion will be chaired by Daniel Rachel\, author of Too Much Too Young\, The 2-Tone Records Story.\n\nThe event finishes with a new poem inspired by the film by the #YourLocalArena roaming-poet-in-residence\, Helen Thomas. It promises to be an unforgettable evening highlighting Britain’s most multiracial music genre and it is completely free!\n\n\n\nGet your free ticket now at the link in the bio.
